Birth:  1964, Chiba, Japan.

Education:  University College London (PhD, 1992-1999), Tokyo University (PhD, 1991-1992; MA, 1988-1991), Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (BA, 1983-1988).

Degrees awarded:  MA, BA.

Jobs:  Freelance Lecturer in English Literature and the English Language.  Part-time Lecturer at Hitotsubashi University (2009 -), the Open University of Japan (2008-), Chuo University, Kokugakuin University, Meiji University (2001-), Riken Institute (2001-2002), Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (2000-), Meisei University (2000-2008), Yokohama City University  (2000-2003), Tokyo Dental College (1991-1992).

Academic Memberships:  Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Cultural Science, Chuo University (2002-),  Regular Member at the English Literary Society of Japan (2000-). 

Main Research fields:  English literature and literary theories.
